The Photography Equipment Database is a member of our com-
plete line of software developed for Photographers.
It is a full featured program offering ease of use, com-
plete reporting capabilities and extensive online help.
***New Features Added To Version 3.0***
Less Memory required. Less Disk Space Required.
Can be run from either hard disk drive or floppy disk.
Screen Saver...If program is left unattended for more than
ten minutes the screen will go blank. Pressing any key
will restore your screen.
Reports...Reports can now be sent to Lpt1, Lpt2 or a Text
file.
Utilites Menu has been expanded.
***Update Policy***
Updates to any of programs will be free for 12 months after
date of purchase. The 12 months begin 30 days after the
date that appears on your check or money order.
Updates are shipped as soon as they are available.
***Note***
If you would like to see something added to any of our soft
ware programs, or if you find something you would like
to see changed please let us know.

BEFORE YOU START
We will make the assumption you will install this program on
your hard disk "C:" in the directory "PH3" . You may
however install The Photography Equipment Database
Program anywhere you'd like.
Change to the "PH3" directory. Type PH3 and press enter.
This will load your program.
**If you place the statement PATH=C:\PH3 in your AUTOEX-
EC.BAT file, Typing PH3 from any directory will load
the program files.**
***if you are upgrading from a previous Version or Demo
Version of The Photography Equipment Database. Please
do the following.
"IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM A PREVIOUS RELEASE"
1). Make a backup copy of the file PHOEQU.DAT & PHOEQU.MEM.
These files contains all your data.
2). Copy new program over the old program. Example: If you
previous version is located "C:\PHOEQU\" copy the new
program into "C:\PHOEQU\".
EXAMPLE: COPY A: *.* C:\PHOEQU
3). Change to the directory were the new program is loaded.
4). Type "UP" at the DOS prompt and press <ENTER>..
A window will appear, asking you to press enter to
update data files. Press <ENTER> and all your files will
be updated. Press <ESC> when finished.
THE OPENING SCREEN
Type PH3 and press enter...you are now looking at the Open-
ing Screen and Main Menu.
The Opening Screen displays your computer systems date &
time at the top, the MAIN MENU in the middle and copy-
right notice on the bottom.
THE MAIN MENU
In the center of the Opening Screen you'll find the Main
Menu. Move the highlight bar up and down to select an
item and press enter.

You may press F1 for the Main Help Menu...
DATA ENTRY
"DEPT" The first field must be filled in to proceed. When
your finished entering information press Ctrl Enter to
save record. Pressing Enter on the last field "Notes"
will save the record. Pressing Esc will return you to
the Opening Screen, and the Record Will Not Be Saved!.
Press F1 for HELP.

RECORDS LISTED BY MAKE
Highlight "View Records By Make". Press Enter. The Opening
Screen will be replaced with the View Table.
"View Records By Make" A list of your records will be dis-
played, sorted by both MAKE & MODEL. ie: All Nikon
Equipment will be grouped together and then sorted
again by model.
You may preform the following from any VIEW TABLE: Press the
INSERT key to ADD RECORDS TO YOUR DATABASE. Highlight a
record and press Enter to change the information in the
highlighted record. Highlight a record and press the
DELETE key to erase that record.
RECORDS LISTED BY DEPT
Highlight "View Records By Dept". Press Enter. The Opening
Screen will be replaced with the View Table.
"View Records By Dept" A list of your records will be dis-
played, sorted by DEPT, MAKE and MODEL.
You may preform the following from any VIEW TABLE: Press the
INSERT key to ADD RECORDS TO YOUR DATABASE. Highlight a
record and press Enter to change the information in the
highlighted record. Highlight a record and press the
DELETE key to erase that record.
RECORDS LISTED BY VENDOR
Highlight "View Records By Vendor". Press Enter. The Opening
Screen will be replaced with the View Table.
"View Records By Vendor". A list of your Records will be
displayed, sorted by VENDOR, MAKE & MODEL.
You may preform the following from any VIEW TABLE: Press the
INSERT key to ADD RECORDS TO YOUR DATABASE. Highlight a
record and press Enter to change the information in the
highlighted record. Highlight a record and press the
DELETE key to erase that record.

ADDING RECORDS TO YOUR DATABASE...
If you press the INSERT key while at any
VIEW TABLE the DATA ENTRY FORM will replace the View
Table. Here you will be able to add records continually
to the database without returning to either the View
Table or Opening Screen....Press ESC to return to View
Table WITHOUT ADDING ANY RECORDS....Pressing ENTER on
the last field will SAVE the record and place you at
the beginning of the next record. (This will continue
until you press the ESC key). Pressing CTRL ENTER from
any field will save the current record and place you at
the beginning of the next record.
CHANGING OR EDITING RECORDS...
To CHANGE data you already entered in a
record, highlight the record you'd like to change and
press Enter. Make the changes, then press CTRL ENTER or
press ENTER on the last field and changes will be
saved.
DELETING RECORDS...
To DELETE a record highlight the record
you would like to DELETE and press the Delete key. The
highlighted record will be displayed giving you one
last chance to view it before you delete it. Press ESC
to return to View Table with out Deleting the record.
Press ENTER TO DELETE the current RECORD.....
SEARCHING FOR RECORDS...
Each VIEW TABLE has a search field
that allows you to search for a record depending on the
table you select. By typing the first letter of the
record your looking for in the "Locate Record " field
the highlight bar will move to the first record fitting
that description.
RUNNING TOTALS...
"View Records By Make" & " View Records By
Dept" both display a running total of the amount you
spent on all items entered.

PRINT REPORT
***New In Version 3.0***
"Print Report By"... Select one of these items from the Main
Menu. Press Enter. You will be greeted by a Submenu.
Here you may direct a report to your Printer or Text File.
(LPT1, LPT2, Text File)
"Print Report By Make"... This will give you a report first
sorted by "MAKE" then "MODEL". The following fields are
listed on this report * MAKE * MODEL * DESCRIPTION *
COST *. Also a Grand Total will be computed on the last
page of this report...You may send this report to your
printer, to your screen or to a text file.
"Print Report By Dept"... This will give you a report first
sorted by "DEPT" then "MAKE". The following files are
listed in this report * DEPT * MAKE * DESCRIPTION *
COST *. In this report each "DEPT" is subtotaled. A
grand total of all items will appear on the last page.
*Send Report To Printer...Select this item to send report to
your printer. The Report Generators Screen will now
replace the Main Menu. It will take a few seconds to
format the report and send it to the printer. When the
Report Generator has finished you be returned to the
main menu.
*Send Report To A File...Select this item to send your
report to a text file. This is useful if you'd like to
save copies of reports to floppies or import reports
into word processing programs.

Utilites Menu
***New To Version 3.0***
Select Utilites Menu from Main Menu. Press Enter. The Open-
ing Screen will be replaced with the Utilities Screen.
From this menu you can
Optimize your data files.
Rebuild Index and Key Files.
Change Program and Report Header.
UPGRADING FROM A PREVIOUS VERSION
To upgrade from a previous version of The Photography Equip-
ment Database is a simple process.
1). Make a backup copy of your old PHOEQU.DAT file and your
old PHOEQU.MEM file.
2). After following the installation instructions found on
the QUICK START paper copy both your old files into the
directory that you installed the new program.
3). Type UP3 press enter.
4). A Window will ask you to press enter to cont. Press <ENTER>.
5). When process in complete press <ESC> and type PH3.
Your old records will be ready and you can start adding new
records to your database.
